For each part in the system, RPMWare loads in the pricing set by the manufacturer. However, you can adjust these prices any way you wish for your ecommerce shop.

For a demonstration of how to set prices, we've created a video tutorial.

RPMWare's pricing engine is flexible and designed specifically for our industry, allowing pricing to be set at the following levels:

  • Brand: A certain brand gets one set discount or mark-up price (i.e. 20% off all AEM parts)
  • Product Group: A product group within a brand gets a certain discount or mark-up price (i.e. $5 off all HKS Adjustable Cam Gears)
  • Item: One item gets its own discount or mark-up price (i.e. a particular AEM Brute Force Intake is discounted 5% for the next 24 hours)

With this pricing engine, you have full control over the pricing of the products without the hassle of setting prices item by item.

Pricing is calculated using a few simple rules.

  • The most specific price will always take precedence. Item level pricing overrides Product Group level pricing and Product Group level pricing overrides Brand level pricing.
  • Customer Levels and Coupons replace standard pricing (but do not add to standard pricing)

For example, given the following pricing scheme:

Level Name Discount
Brand ACT 5% off MSRP
Product Group ACT Flywheel 10% off MSRP
Item PN: 600120 15% off MSRP
  • ACT Item PN: 600120 will sell for 15% off MSRP.
  • All other ACT Flywheels will sell for 10% off MSRP
  • Everything else within ACT will sell for 5% off MSRP

NOTE: Although this example illustrates Percentage Discounts, you may mix and match Discount Types (Percentage Discount, Fixed Discount, Fixed Price).

Pricing Types

On RPMWare, you have access to MSRP, Jobber, and MAP pricing. However, some brands only choose to have only MSRP prices available. You will see all of the pricing types available for a certain brand when you visit their pricing tab in your RPMWare dashboard.

Discount Types

  • Percentage Discount. This discount will take a set percentage off the price.
  • Fixed Discount. This discount will take a fixed dollar amount off the price.
  • Fixed Price. This discount will fix the price to a set amount.

The Percentage Discount is the most common discount type.

Mark-up Prices

If you'd prefer to mark-up prices (e.g. sell for 10% over Jobber pricing) you may do so by entering a negative Percentage Discount or a negative Fixed Amount Discount.

  • A negative Percentage Discount will mark up a price by that percentage.
  • A negative Fixed Amount Discount will mark up a price by that amount.

Customer Levels

RPMWare allows you to have multiple discount levels. If you have a certain group of customers – perhaps in a wholesale or rewards program – to whom you want to offer deeper discounts, you can easily set up custom pricing for them in your RPMWare dashboard.
