Your factory crank pulley is responsible for transferring energy from your crankshaft to your water pump, a/c compressor and alternator. It does this by way of a rubber belt and it does it’s job well. The drawback to the factory pulley is that it’s quite heavy. Reasons for this include less expensive manufacturing and using the pulley’s mass to smooth out ‘noise’ in the accessory system (NOT to be confused with functioning as a harmonic dampener, which it does not). Design requirements for this intake were simple: The intake must not only be safe for the engine, but perform well both with and without tuning. The intake must be able to be installed quickly, without removal of the bumper. The intake must produce horsepower and torque gains throughout the RPM range, not just on the top end. PERRIN Press Release – New Shifter Stop for 2015 WRX!

Due to the slop of the internals in the transmission, there is an unacceptable amount of horizontal slop within the 1st- and 2nd- gear shift gates on the 2015 Subaru WRX. What should be little to no movement ends up being nearly 1.0 inch of play. This makes for an unnatural placement of shift gates and a lost feeling of which gear you are in. The PERRIN Shifter Stop removes this play, reducing the horizontal movement to 0.12 inches. This makes for a solid connection between the driver and transmission.
