Subaru gave its flagship model, the WRX STi, a redesign for the 2015 model year. However, Subaru chose to carry over the EJ257 intercooled and turbocharged 2.5L H4 boxer engine. Some critics are disappointed that the base model WRX would receive the cutting edge 2.0L FA20DIT engine, while the 2015 WRX STi has the same engine from the 2014 model year. For those critics Masuo Takatsu, program manager for both the base 2015 WRX and WRX STi, had this to say “I felt the STI’s weaker area was the handling side. If we didn’t have the chassis, why add more power to overwhelm it? Also, this EJ engine has proved itself in competition. It’s an engine we confidently bring to the track. The new FA-series in the WRX has not been proven in motorsports. Plus, we knew the aftermarket could supply more power to those STi owners who demanded it.”

Masuo Takatsu knew what he was talking about. He predicted the aftermarket would step in and K&N® has done so with an aesthetically pleasing and highly functional performance air intake system for the 2015 and 2016 Subaru WRX STi 2.5L H4. These numbers represent peak estimated power gains. Significant power gains were witnessed across the entire RPM range which aids in improving the driving experience even during daily driving.

High Flow
With large 1.225″ inlets and outlets, the PERRIN Blow Off Valve is sized perfectly to relieve any amount of boost pressure without fear of compressor surge. Don’t be fooled by giant oversized blow off valves, these inlet and outlet sizes were chosen to ensure the perfect balance of flow and to maintain boost in your system, without ruining response by dumping too much boost.

Adjustable Relief Pressure
The PERRIN Blow Off Valve cap features adjustable spring tension, which allows for an adjustment when the blow off valve vents. A looser setting will make it act smooth and more like stock. Setting it harder will cause it to vent later and with significantly increased boost levels. This adjustment is important in maintaining air within the boost system without reducing turbo response.

Adjustable Flow Control
The unique design allows you to control the volume of air released when the blow off valve vents. Adjusting the volume of air helps maintain the perfect amount of boost in your system during shifts without causing compressor surge. Venting too little can damage the turbo, venting too much air can will make the throttle less responsive. This adjustment is independent of the relief pressure allowing for a totally customizable blow off valve.

Recirculation is Job #1
It is vital that a blow off valve for your WRX recirculates the air back to the intake track to maintain proper air-fuel ratio and driveability between shifts. While this can be set up as a vent-to-atmosphere style blow off valve, we only recommend that on cars running aftermarket Speed Density type tuning (cars without mass airflow sensor).

Low Maintenance
The PERRIN Blow Off Valve requires very little maintenance but when needed, it’s very easy and quick to disassemble. Two O-rings are used to seal vital components from the elements making for extended time between service intervals. There are no special tools required and maintenance can be performed without removing the blow off valve from the vehicle.

Direct Fit & Pre-set Adjustment
Included with every PERRIN Blow Off Valve are the necessary components to make this a direct bolt-on for your WRX. Each blow off valve is pre-set out of the box to work perfectly with every application, so no adjustment required.

Construction

PERRIN Press Release – New Performance Inlet Hose for 2015 WRX!

The PERRIN Inlet Hose for the 2015 WRX will increase airflow to the engine which increases horsepower while adding a touch of color and style to your engine bay.

3″ Diameter for more flow
The PERRIN inlet hose has a 3.0″ internal diameter compared to 2.7″ found in the OEM part. This allows for a greater amount of air to smoothly enter your engine with virtually no restriction. This larger diameter will easily support all bolt on modifications and increased boost levels.

Smoother air flow
The PERRIN Inlet Hose is perfectly smooth on the inside. Compared to the stock part, which has a very sharp bend, our PERRIN Inlet hose makes a much more gradual bend toward the throttle body making for even less restriction. This, along with removing the pleats found in the OEM hose, makes for more horsepower and improves acceleration.

Wire Reinforcement
The PERRIN inlet hose is reinforced with a stainless steel support wire that is embedded within the silicone layers. The support adds rigidity to the hose and prevents collapses when used with restrictive filter elements and high horsepower setups.
