You probably already know that you want an intercooler with maximum cooling and minimum restriction, but when it comes to selecting the right ‘man for the job’, we think it’s important to understand why. As air is pressurized by your turbo, it heats up, not because of the heat of the turbocharger, but because when they’re compressed, the atoms in the air are forced closer together and as a result, move faster and have more energy. That energy manifests itself as heat. The more heat we can remove from the system, the denser the air becomes and that’s what helps eliminate pre-detonation, or ‘knock’, allowing for increased output from your system. Your OEM TMIC does just fine at stock boost under normal use, but as soon as you start putting some real heat into it with higher boost or harder use, it heat-soaks beyond recovery.

Predictably, both intercoolers were seeing similar Pre-IC temperatures on each run (180-190F peak), but while the GrimmSpeed Uncoated TMIC kept Post-IC temperatures between 30-40F the entire time, the OEM TMIC fluctuated between 35-75F. This is the kind of consistent cooling that you should expect from a high quality TMIC and is a function of the geometry and design of the bar and plate core. Our high density core has a massive heat transfer surface area but maintains a large enough cross-sectional flow area that there’s very little added restriction.

The 3-port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid (EBCS Pro) is designed to control today’s high performance turbochargers with its ultra-fast response and bomb-proof design. The PERRIN EBCS Pro was the first and original aftermarket boost control solenoid, and now we have taken it one step further with the EBCS Pro!

Custom High Performance Solenoid
The custom made solenoid coil and valve are made specific to PERRIN specs. This allows the valve to operate almost 2 times faster, flow almost 50% more than competitors’ designs. The EBCS Pro also works with OEM ECUs without causing check engine lights. To fully utilize the EBCS Pro, an ECU recalibration is NEEDED to ensure no overboosting occurs.

Direct Plug & Play, Car Specific
The PERRIN male OEM connector is specific to the 2015+ WRX (FA20 DIT). This ensures a properly sealed and solid connection between the EBCS Pro and the ECU. With its unique design, installation is simple and much quicker than competitors’ products.

Solenoid Construction
The main valve body of the EBCS Pro is made of corrosion-resistant, nickel-plated brass with proper seals to withstand the temperatures and oils seen in a boost control system. Other features unique to the PERRIN EBCS Pro:

  • Short piston stroke.
  • Balanced piston, immune to different boost levels.
  • Very few parts.
  • Solenoid isolated from contaminated air.
  • Extremely long life.
  • Operates in vacuum up to 120 psi.

Anodized Aluminum Multi-port Body
The body of the EBCS Pro is made of 6061 aluminum so it can easily survive under-hood temperatures. This allows the part to adapt to your ever-changing setups.

Nickel Plated Connectors
High quality nickel plated brass fittings resist corrosion and will not break. For race professionals, the EBCS Pro will also accept AN fittings for the best connection possible.

Your factory crank pulley is responsible for transferring energy from your crankshaft to your water pump, a/c compressor and alternator. It does this by way of a rubber belt and it does it’s job well. The drawback to the factory pulley is that it’s quite heavy.
